Energy Performance Assessment & Certification
Under the European Union Directive on the Energy Performance of Buildings, it is a mandatory requirement for most residential properties to have an Energy Performance Certificate provided when they are sold on the open market.
We have experience at providing Energy Performance Certificates for both commercial and private clients on a wide range of properties. The cost of providing these certificates varies according to the size and location of the property and we would be happy to provide you with a quotation should you be considering selling your property.
As from the 1st October 2008, if you are renting out your property, you will need to provide an Energy Performance Certificate to any prospective tenant. There is no need to obtain a certificate for an existing tenancy. Once obtained, a certificate remains valid for up to 10 years. Owners of rented property are encouraged to obtain certificates before this deadline. If a valid energy performance certificate still exists when changing tenants no new certificate is required.
